Summary

Asuma and Kurenai confront the two cloaked individuals. Discovered, the two reveal themselves as Itachi Uchihaand Kisame Hoshigaki. Recognising how dangerous they are, Asuma and Kurenai prepare for battle. Asuma protects Kurenai from Kisame's attack while Kurenai uses a genjutsu on Itachi. Itachi easily reverses it and Kurenai only barely evades his counter-attack. Asuma exchanges blows with Kisame but is unable to keep up. As he and Kurenai are about to be killed, Kakashi arrives and saves them both, apologising for intervening in their battle.
